Pine Forest Princess

Updated: Jun 23

"Are you sure you want to use me? I'm not that photogenic!" is what Morgan told me over text. Looking at the photos though, can you even believe it? I love working with pro models, but I also love coaching an amateur. We have fun and don't worry about messing it up!

Our friendly chats during makeup and the drive up had us super relaxed, which came in handy when we found the forest floor unexpectedly coated in micro-thorns (yikes). The gown is a stunning original design by Mywony Atelier, one of my favorite designers. The thorns caught on the delicate tulle SO easily, so I posed Morgan in several ways without moving her feet an inch. All the deep forest photos you see are her in exactly one spot! You can BET we were so, so careful prying out each thorn for no tatters.

We moved to a thorn-free section of the forest and felt much more relaxed! I prompted Morgan with simple movements, like "breathe deeply and slowly trace your sleeves", and by the time we finished she was radiating confidence and flowing intuitively. (I admit, it's hard not to feel amazing when you're wearing a literal fairytale gown.)

When I planned color I knew I wanted the dress to pop in a special way. It was a last minute tossup between the forest and the beach, and I'm thrilled we shot here. Are you geeking out about how the blues and greens play together?! And I'm so glad my "non-photogenic" friend was willing to go on a limb and make magical art. I truly believe that the only requirements to look good on camera are having a body, fun, and a great photographer. ;)
